Leon “Lee” Hojnicki
Leon “Lee” Hojnicki has 20 years of experience as an active-duty military Soldier and 20 years of experience as a defense contractor. Lee is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel culminating his career as the Battalion Commander of the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion -Mid Atlantic in Lakehurst, NJ. During his career, Lee served in the 82d Airborne Division, the 101st Air Assault (Airborne) Division; as well as Air Defense Artillery units, both CONUS and OCONUS. In his civilian professional life, he helped plan, develop, and implement the air defense plan of the National Capital Region after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. These plans are still in effect today and heightened security levels. After retiring from the Army, Lee served as a contractor for eight years on-site doing program execution work. Lee has over 12 years of doing Business Development and Capture type work. This BD and Capture experience led him to the initial meeting with Dr. Charles Painter in June 2018 to form the CBDA. He has successfully led business development and major capture efforts for large, mid-size, and small businesses across the full array of socio-economic categories. He has successfully brought in numerous contracts and subcontracts supporting DoD, IC, Federal Civilian and state and local agencies. Examples include DoD, Army, USMC Cyber, USCG, DIA, NGA, FBI, DHS, FEMA, and several other Defense, Federal, Civilian and state and local agencies.
Mr. Hojnicki earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Science and Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. He earned a Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College in Newport, RI. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy University in Troy, AL. He volunteers as the Vice President of his community’s Homeowners Association board and actively participates in the 10th Congressional District of Virginia’s Service Academy Advisory Board; selecting the future leaders of our Armed Forces. Lee is married and has three grown children.
